Subtle isn’t a word you’d use to describe “State Property 2.” From its choice of language (the f-word being particularly popular) to the actors’ deliveries to the violence-for-the-sake-of-violence mode of directing, this film is over the top - and not in a good way.

Multitasking Damon Dash, who co-wrote and directed this film, has a co-starring role as Beans’ nemesis, Dame. ► A cook coughs persistently while preparing food and then picks his nose.Sigel - who showed so much talent with his best-selling album “The B. A man says that he was brutally beaten by police, and a man talks about having been a troublemaker when he was a boy. A man says that he "shot up a court room" and that a woman shot him in the back of the head. A man talks about the crimes other men on a penitentiary bus have committed: pedophilia, drug dealing, murder, etc. A man imagines hitting a man repeatedly with a chair. ► We hear gunshots and are told that a boy's parents were murdered. We see a photo of a woman pointing a gun. Another photo shows a man who has been shot in the back of the head (we see blood pooled on the floor). ► We see a photograph of a dead woman with blood on and around her head and splattered on a wall behind her. Two men with guns threaten to kill a woman's family while they make her watch. A man holds a gun to a man's head, another man holds a gun to another man's head, two men with guns threaten a man and take his bag of money, and police officers hold guns on a man. ► Four men with guns hold guns on four other men who hold guns on them. A brief boxing sequence shows two men fighting in a ring. A man kicks a man in the stomach, and a man punches another man in the face. Boys kick and punch another boy (the boy cowers on the ground). ► Armed officers burst into a house, roust a man and a woman out of bed, and the man punches two of the officers in the face. ► We see a dog lying dead apparently after having sniffed cocaine (cocaine was hidden in a statue and the police dog located it by sniffing it). A man pours a large pot of boiling water on another man, who screams. A man is hit repeatedly by another man with a hammer, a man hits a man repeatedly with a bat, and a man beats another man with a chain. A man lifting a barbell is killed by another man who pushes the bar down against his throat (we see blood coming out of the man's mouth). ► A man grabs a man by the throat, shoves him against a wall and stabs him repeatedly (we see blood on his shirt). A man in a car is chased by police, he shoots at them, and they chase him in their cars. Several boys steal marijuana from a room in what looks like an abandoned building the owner of the marijuana comes into the room, confronts the boys, and one of the boys pulls a gun out of a desk drawer and shoots the man. Also, a woman shoots two men (we see blood on their shirts). ► A man is tied up in the back of a car, we see blood on his face and then he is shot several times, a man in a car is shot to death and we see him later slumped over the steering wheel and bloody, a man shoots a man five times, a man shoots three other men, several men shoot at each other on a street, a man shoots several other men, and a man shoots a man during a card game. VIOLENCE/GORE 7 - Several people shoot back and forth at each other: we see people being hit by bullets, we see bloody bullet holes (one in the head), a man is shot several times and blood spurts out of the wound in slow motion, and a man shoots a man and a woman.
